Join a unique Southern Cross Brigade in 2025-26!
The 41st Southern Cross Brigade (2025-26), will be held from the 22nd of December 2025 until around the 9th of January 2026 (inclusive, dates TBC).
Celebrating 65 years of our long-time partners, the Institute for Friendship Amongst People (ICAP), the 41st Brigade will be incorporated into an International Brigade for part of its itinerary (anticipated to be 22 December 2025 until 4 January 2026). This will be an exciting opportunity to meet friends of Cuba from all around the world! From 4-9 January 2026, we expect to have a separate itinerary just for our Southern Cross Brigade travellers. During this time, we hope to visit our friends at the Korimakao Art Community, the Agro Vivo agricultural social project, and other unique opportunities.
You can expect a cost of around $2,500AUD (excluding flights) for all Brigade accommodation, basic food and internal travel expenses, plus the $250AUD registration fee.
Key information can be found in the 2025 information booklet! Please note that this information is for the previous Brigade and may not precisely reflect plans and information for 2025-26.

The Southern Cross Brigade offers Australian and New Zealand friends of Cuba the opportunity to learn more about the island nation's unique, yet often misunderstood, political history and to participate in Cuba’s rich cultural heritage. There is no better time to join the brigade and to find out what life is like in socialist Cuba!
Preliminary plans for 2025-26 to be confirmed soon!
